Dragon Spawn are the result of failed attempts by the Second Born to create quickly grown, corruptable dragons for his armies of conquest. They are powerful beings, unusually strong and hale. Though they have many of physical and personality characteristics of dragons, most of these are the flaws, and not the good aspects: though exceptionally strong, they also tend to be simple-minded. At their most powerful, they may take the form of a dragon. But, it is highly unstable, and they are unable to control it for long.
